The Beeline Beanie is a fitted hat with a soft, squishy feel. Two colors of yarn are used to create a series of stripes or "beelines" packed with contrast and texture. Your imagination is the limit when it comes to color combinations. The finished hat is so much fun to wear, and it's a quick knit to boot!
This pattern is written for use with bulky or super bulky yarn. Please see the specifications for each below.
For bulky:
Bulky/size 5 yarn in two contrasting colors, approximately 115 yards (105 m) total
Color A—70 yards (64 m) Color B—45 yards (41 m)
US 10 (6 mm) 16” (41 cm) circular knitting needles
US 8 (5 mm) 16” (41 cm) circular knitting needles
US 8 (5 mm) Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or US 8 (5 mm) circular knitting needles with a longer cord for Magic Loop Method
For super bulky:
Super bulky/size 6 yarn in two contrasting colors, approximately 90 yards (82 m) total
Color A—50 yards (45.5 m) Color B—40 yards (36.5 m)
US 13 (9 mm) 16” (41 cm) circular knitting needles
US 11 (8 mm) 16” (41 cm) circular knitting needles
US 11 (8 mm) Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or US 11 (8 mm) circular knitting needles with a longer cord for Magic Loop Method
For both bulky and super bulky:
Stitch marker
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Pom pom maker or faux fur pom, if desired
