Please note this is a KNITTING PATTERN ONLY. You will not receive a finished sweater. You will receive a downloadable PDF file (in English) that provides written instructions, charts and some links to helpful video tutorials of techniques used in the pattern so you can knit the Hearthside Sweater yourself.

Some of my most favorite memories are of nights spent with family and friends laughing and listening to music near the crackling logs and glowing embers of a fireplace. Think warmth. Think coziness. Think home. Those are the feels I want you to have when you wear your Hearthside Sweater. This pattern features a mix of diamonds in the yoke that “twinkle” above elongated, “flaming” zigzags at the hemline. Although this sweater is designed for a cropped fit, you can customize the length to your own comfort level. Knit with DK yarn, it has the perfect blend of lightness and warmth. What colors will you choose for your Hearthside Sweater, and most importantly, what memories will you make while wearing it?

Construction
This sweater is worked in the round seamlessly from the top down.

Sizes
Instructions for each size in this pattern are indicated throughout as follows: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) [7, 8, 9, 10]. It is written for a body with a full chest circumference measuring 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50) [54, 58, 62, 66]”/76 (86.5, 96.5, 106.5, 117, 127) [137, 147.5, 157.5, 167.5] cm, and is designed to be worn with approximately 2” (5 cm) of positive ease. The upper sleeve circumference is designed to have approximately 2.5” (6.5 cm) of positive ease for a relaxed fit. Cover photo is shown in Size 3 on a 38” (96.5 cm) full chest circumference with 2” (5 cm) of positive ease. See tables on page 2 of the pattern to pick the best size for you based on your body measurements and desired garment ease.

*Please note that sizes 9 and 10, as outlined above, have not been tested for this pattern. I continue to welcome testers for these sizes and appreciate the extra time and work that goes into knitting them. If you are interested in testing size 9 or 10 by providing detailed notes and feedback, please contact me at courtney@flynnknit.com and I will provide the pattern to you free of charge as I would for any tester.

Suggested Needles
US 8 (5 mm), or size needed to meet stranded pattern and stockinette gauge: 16” (40 cm) circular needles, 24” (60 cm) circular needles, 36” (90 cm) circular needles; and preferred needles for small circumference knitting. 
US 6 (4 mm), or size needed to meet ribbing gauge: 16” (40 cm) circular needles, 24” (60 cm) circular needles, 36” (90 cm) circular needles; and preferred needles for small circumference knitting.

Gauge
18 sts and 22 rnds (blocked) = 4” (10 cm) square in the stranded pattern and stockinette using larger needles

23 sts and 28 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in 1x1 ribbing unstretched using smaller needles

19 sts and 36 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in 1x1 ribbing stretched using smaller needles

Yarn
DK yarn in four contrasting colors held singly. If your gauge is different than what is called for in the pattern, yardage will vary. Substitute yarn yardage also may vary.
